1. Rental Agreement

All vehicle rentals are subject to a detailed Rental Agreement provided at booking confirmation or vehicle collection. This agreement contains specific terms, conditions, insurance details, charges, and your responsibilities for the particular rental. If there's any conflict between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement takes precedence.

2. Eligibility Requirements

To rent a vehicle from us, you must:

  • Be at least 21 years old (age restrictions may vary by vehicle type, with additional charges possible for drivers under 25). Hold a valid, full driving licence appropriate for the vehicle category, held for the minimum period specified in the Rental Agreement. Provide valid identification and proof of current address. Provide valid payment information and security deposit. Meet any additional requirements specified in the Rental Agreement.

3. Booking and Payment

  • Bookings can be made through our website, by phone, or in person at our Dartford location. A booking deposit may be required to secure your reservation. Full payment and security deposit are typically due at vehicle collection. All prices are in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, processed securely through reputable payment providers.

4. Vehicle Collection and Return

  • You must inspect the vehicle thoroughly at collection and report any existing damage immediately. A vehicle condition report will be completed and signed. Return the vehicle in the same condition as collected, allowing for normal wear and tear. New damage will be assessed and charged accordingly. Return the vehicle with the same fuel level as collected. Refueling charges will apply if returned with less fuel. Late returns may incur additional charges. Contact us immediately if you anticipate a late return. You are responsible for any parking fines, traffic violations, or charges incurred during the rental period, plus an administration fee.

5. Insurance and Liability

  • Basic third-party insurance is included with all rentals. Full coverage details and excess amounts are provided in the Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be available to reduce your financial liability. We recommend reviewing these carefully. You are responsible for damage or loss up to the insurance excess amount, unless covered by additional insurance. Damage caused by negligence, misuse, or breach of these Terms is your responsibility regardless of insurance coverage.

6. Cancellation and Changes

Cancellation and amendment policies vary by booking type and notice period. Please refer to your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement for specific details. Late cancellations or no-shows may result in charges.

7. Prohibited Uses

You must not use the rented vehicle for:

  • Any illegal purpose or activity. Racing, rallying, off-roading, or other hazardous activities. Transporting hazardous or dangerous materials. Sub-letting to third parties or allowing unauthorized drivers. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Purposes for which the vehicle is not designed. Exceeding passenger or weight limits. Driving outside agreed geographical limits without proper authorization.

Violating these restrictions may result in immediate rental termination and additional charges.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by English and Welsh law, Dartford Vehicle Hire Services shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or loss of profits, data, or business, arising from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid for the rental in the preceding 12 months. This does not limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by English and Welsh law. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of English and Welsh courts.

10. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. Changes become effective immediately upon posting on our website. Your continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
